How To
1. Navigate to the Boards Overview Page
Buckets for Jira is designed for project users. To access it:
Open your project in Jira.
Go to the Apps section in your project. You’ll find it in the sidebar or the project-level top navigation, depending on your project type.
Select Buckets for Jira.
2. Create or Select a Board
2.1: Create a New Board
On the Boards Overview page, click the blue + Create Board button in the upper-right corner.
Provide a name for your board and, optionally, a description.
Add an optional JQL sub-filter if needed.
In the Advanced Settings, configure when to hide older completed issues.
The base filter for the board is project = <PROJECT KEY>
. Your new board will display all issues in the Backlog bucket by default.
2.2: Select an Existing Board
Use the dropdown menu on the Boards Overview page to select an existing board.
The selected board will display all created buckets and their associated issues in a custom order.
3. Edit a Board
3.1 Rename or Update the Board
Use the three-dot menu in the upper-right corner of the board to:
Rename the board.
Update its description.
3.2 Delete the Board
Use the same three-dot menu to delete the board. This action is permanent.
3.3 Manage Buckets
Create a New Bucket: Click the + button next to the last bucket on the board.
Reorder Buckets: Use the arrow buttons next to each bucket name to adjust their order.
Delete a Bucket: Click the trash can icon.
Organize Issues: Drag and drop issues within buckets to arrange them as needed.
