How To
Navigate to the Boards Overview Page
Buckets for Jira is designed for project users. To access it:
Open your project in Jira
Go to the More section in your project. You’ll find it in the project-level top navigation.
Select Buckets for Jira
Create or Select a Board
Create a New Board
On the Boards Overview page, click the blue + Create Board button in the upper-right corner
Enter basic details
Name: Provide a name for your board
Description (optional): Summarize the board’s purpose
JQL sub-filter (optional): Specify additional criteria to refine which issues appear
Advanced Settings
Board color: Add some flair to your board by picking a color that helps it stand out in your dashboard
Hide completed issues older than: Set an age limit (default is 2 weeks) after which completed issues are automatically hidden from the board
The base filter for the board is project = <PROJECT KEY>
. Any JQL sub‐filter you provide will be added to that base filter. Your new board will display all issues in the Backlog bucket by default.
Select an Existing Board
Either click on the board in the Board Overview or
use the dropdown menu Select Board in the upper right corner to select an existing board
The selected board will display all created buckets and their associated issues in a custom order
Edit a Board
Rename or Update the Board
Use the three-dot menu in the upper-right corner of the board to:
Rename the board
Update its description#
Change its color
Delete the Board
Use the same three-dot menu to delete the board. This action is permanent
Manage Buckets
Create a New Bucket: Click the + button next to the last bucket on the board
Reorder Buckets: Use the arrow buttons next to each bucket name to adjust their order
Delete a Bucket: Click the trash can icon
Organize Issues: Drag and drop issues within buckets to arrange them as needed
